AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Farayah on Thursday conducted a field visit to Aqaba Governorate, where he inspected several administrative and service facilities, including the governorate headquarters, the specialised civil defence centre in the Southern Industrial Zone, and the Durra Border Crossing.
The minister commenced his tour at the governorate’s headquarters, holding a meeting with Aqaba Governor Ayman Awaysheh in the presence of local administrative officials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the session, Farayah discussed several operational issues and institutional developments.
He was briefed on the measures implemented to ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents, alongside a comprehensive review of the governorate's public safety protocols.
Farayah also visited the specialised civil defence centre in the Southern Industrial Zone, where he was updated on the unit’s readiness and the strategic plans in place to respond to potential industrial incidents.
Concluding his tour, the minister inspected the Durra Border Crossing and the progress of the new border facility project, where he received briefings from officials regarding planned upgrades to the existing crossing aimed at enhancing service delivery and improving the operational environment.
