AT LEAST SIX PEOPLE RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER STABBING AT WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

At least six people were rushed to the hospital following a reported stabbing at a high school in Tacoma, Washington.

The Tacoma Fire Department said crews were called to Foss High School just before 1.40pm Thursday on reports of a possible stabbing, KOMO reports.

When crews then arrived on the scene, they found six total victims, including the alleged stabber, whom they transported to local hospitals.

Those victims include five children and a security guard, four of whom are in critical condition, Public Information Officer Chelsea Shepherd told The News Tribune.

Preliminary radio traffic suggests at least one of the children suffered severe chest injuries and the security guard suffered cut injuries, the Puget Press reports.

One suspect is in custody, with police confirming to My Northwest that the suspect is a student at the school.

That suspect was also taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Seattle Times.

The stabbing apparently stemmed from a fight at the school, one of the 911 calls to dispatchers suggests.

Leslie Rodriguez told the News Tribune she heard from her brother, who is a student at the school, that his friends - three juniors, including a pair of twins - tried to 'jump' a kid at the school, but the kid had a knife and pulled it on the group.

Two freshman girls, ages 14 and 15, also said they heard a commotion and shouting outside their classroom.

After the school then went into lockdown, they said a male student was pulled out of their class. They later learned the student's older brother had been involved in the fight.

'In class we hear, "This is a lockdown," and everybody’s like, "What is going on?" And then all of a sudden I see the video airdropped to my friend’s phone, and we see the whole video happen — the whole fight and stuff — and it was just crazy,' one freshman student recounted to Fox 13.

'It was so bad, there was blood everywhere. And then I heard that, basically, the person who had the knife was — I don’t even know - they said it was some older kid that had already been to jail and stuff, so they came in with a knife.'

School and after school activities are now canceled for Friday, and counselors and support staff will be made available to students.
